hipsters - the movement we love to hate
ad busters features an insightful article about hipsters: the dead end of western civilization - by douglas haddow. doug writes a semi-academic essay commenting on the culture of hipster and it's worth a read although it is a little pretentious. check the article here.
it's interesting though because i would bet that 70% of employees at adbuster are in fact hipsters, but i don't want to get into the irony of that.
another good article sounding off on the hipster movement can be read here. it's titled why the hipster must die: a modest proposal to save new york cool - by christian lorentzen. as with jonathan swift's satirical essay, a modest proposal, lorentzen presents a some what sarcastic solution to save new york from the hipster vacuum.

fonzworth bentley's new single "everybody" off his new album entitled c.o.l.o.u.r.s. or cool outrageous lovers of uniquely raw style. What kind of name is that for an album? There is nothing raw about mr. fonzworth bentley... I mean honestly go back to waiting on p.diddy hand and foot like the bitch you are. you sir are whats wrong with the music industry!
anyway.... the video is ok, the beats pretty good but if it wasn't for the king - andre benjamin - this would be getting as much spins as a da band record.
